QU’EST-CE QUE L’ORGANISATION SUROIT ?

 L’Organisation Suroît est un organisme à but non lucratif dont la mission sociale est d’offrir le meilleur encadrement possible tant au niveau sportif que social aux jeunes hockeyeurs et hockeyeuses de notre région (Châteauguay, Mercier, Sainte-Martine et Kahnawake). D’offrir un support aux associations locales, dites simple lettre et leurs bénévoles, administrer la structure double lettre et hockey féminin, recueillir les informations et réglementation régionales, organiser les séries de fin de saison du territoire et d’être un interlocuteur fort au sein du Lac St-Louis. Notre but est de promouvoir le hockey comme discipline constructive. 

 De plus, nous avons mis sur pied depuis quelque saison un programme de sensibilisation tel que la nutrition, la violence, les drogues et le dopage. Ce programme relève directement du conseiller technique.  .Le rôle du conseiller est d’assuré la continuité du programme double lettre déjà mis en place, soit par le programme de formation et de développement pour l’enseignement technique, individuel, collectif et psychologique de nos jeunes hockeyeurs et hockeyeuses. Nous avons aussi un entraîneur des gardiens qui apporte son aide à nos jeunes gardiens (nes) ainsi qu’aux entraîneurs.

 L’exécutif du Suroît est composé de cinq (5) personnes : un président, 2 vice-présidents, un trésorier, d’un(e) secrétaire ainsi que des quatre (4) présidents d’association.  De plus, il y a six (6) postes appointés : gouverneur, registraire, arbitre en chef, entraîneur en chef, responsable équipement et responsable féminin.

WHAT IS THE SUROÎT ORGANIZATION?

 The Suroît organization is a non-profit organization whose social mission is to offer the best possible framework, as much at the sports level as at the social level, for the young female and male hockey players of our region (Châteauguay, Mercier, Sainte-Martine, and Kahnawake). Our mission is to offer support to local associations (single-letter teams and their volunteers), to manage the structure of double-letter teams and girls’ hockey, to gather regional information and rules, to organize the end-of-season championships in our region, and to be a strong representative within the Lac St-Louis region. Our goal is to promote hockey as a constructive discipline.

 In addition, a few years ago, we developed an instructional program on nutrition, violence, drugs, and doping. The Technical Director is in charge of this program . In addition, the role of the Technical Director is to assure the continuity of the training and development program double letter already in place, a program through which our young male and female hockey players receive technical, individual, group, and psychological instruction. We also have a goaltender trainer who helps our young goaltenders and also assists the coaches.

 The Suroît Executive Committee is composed of five members: a President, two Vice-Presidents, a Treasurer, a Secretary, and there are four Association Presidents. As well, there are six appointed positions: Governor, Registrar, Referee-in-Chief, Head Coach, Equipment Manager, and Director of Girls’ Hockey.

 CLASSIFICATION POUR LE HOCKEY MINEUR 

 Le monde du hockey mineur doit subir encore une fois des modifications importantes dans la région comme partout au Québec. Hockey Québec qui régit le hockey implantera pour la prochaine saison une nouvelle structure de classification qui viendra modifier le nombre d’équipes double lettre et simple lettre ainsi que les affiliations aux associations locales. L’organisation du Suroît devra donc ajouter un troisième niveau à sa structure double-lettre avec l’ajout de 2 équipes CC. Donc les catégories peewee, bantam et midget auront une équipe AA, deux BB et deux CC. Tandis que l’atome sera formé de deux BB et deux CC.

 Suite à la règlementation de Hockey Québec qui spécifiait que les joueurs qui veulent évoluer au niveau CC doivent obligatoirement passer par le AA et BB avant d’être sélectionné au CC.  La région du Lac St-Louis stipulait que les équipes AA , BB et CC seraient administrées par les organisations de chaque territoire de recrutement. 

 NEW CLASSIFICATION CATEGORIES FOR MINOR HOCKEY IN QUÉBEC

 Hockey Québec has changed the age classification categories for all divisions of minor hockey. During the meeting of the Regional Permanent Committee, a meeting of all regional presidents of Québec, a unanimous recommendation was made asking the Board of Directors of Hockey Québec to change the age classifications.

 Consequently, after studying the file, the Board of Directors unanimously ratified the recommendation of the Regional Permanent Committee. This change brings the age categories recognized by Hockey Québec in line with those of Hockey Canada and the change is effective immediately. www.hockey.qc.ca

 NOUVEAU TABLEAU DE CLASSIFICATION POUR LE HOCKEY MINEUR  AU QUÉBEC

 Hockey Québec va de l’avant en modifiant le tableau des âges des différentes divisions de son hockey mineur. C’est à l’occasion de la commission permanente des régions, réunissant tous les présidents régionaux du Québec, que ces derniers ont unanimement recommandé au Conseil d’administration de Hockey Québec de modifier le tableau des âges.

 En conséquence après études et considération du dossier, le Conseil d’administration a entériné unanimement la recommandation de la commission permanente des régions. Les divisions d’âge reconnues du hockey au Québec seront donc arrimées avec celles de Hockey Canada et la décision entre en vigueur immédiatement- www.hockey.qc.ca

 NEW CLASSIFICATION STRUCTURE FOR MINOR HOCKEY IN THE REGION

 The world of minor hockey in our region, as in the rest of Québec, must, once again, go through major changes. Hockey Québec, the governing body for minor hockey, will, for next season, institute a new classification structure that will change the number of double-letter and single-letter teams as well as the affiliations to local organizations. The Suroît organization will therefore have to add a third level to its double-letter structure with the addition of two CC teams. This means that the Peewee, Bantam, and Midget categories will each have one AA team, two BB teams, and two CC teams.  The Atom level will be composed of two BB teams and two CC teams.

 Hockey Québec rules specify that players who want to play at the CC level must go through the AA and BB level tryouts before making the CC team. The Lac St-Louis region rules stipulate that the AA ,BB and CC teams must be managed by the organizations in each recruitment territory. 

  HOCKEY FÉMININ

 Le hockey féminin sera sous l’administration du Suroît la saison prochaine. Cette saison  7 équipes étaient formées, soit : , peewee A et B, Bantam A et B ,midget A et B. et junior A. 

Les  joueuses ne peuvent choisir entre le B et le A se sont les évaluation sur glace qui détermineront dans quel niveau elles évolueront. Le coût de la saison sera déterminé selon le coût de location des heures de glaces et les frais itinérant au fonctionnement des équipes (arbitre, chronométreur, frais d’adhésion). Le coût sera fait lors que nous aurons le nombre exact de joueuses inscrites dans nos équipes et selon la subvention accordé par votre association locale. Le montant vous sera donné quelques semaines après le début de saison. Le tout devra être payé dans les jours suivants. Toutes les équipes porteront les uniformes du Suroît pour la saison 2009-2010.

 GIRLS’ HOCKEY

 Next year, Girls’ Hockey will be under the administration of the Suroît organization. This year, there were  7 teams: , Peewee A and B, Bantam A and B, Midget A and B, and junior A. 

 Players cannot choose to be part of an A or a B team; the on-ice evaluations will determine in which level they will play. The player fee will be based on the ice rental costs and the cost of running the teams (referee, timer, registration fees). The fee will be determined as soon as we know the exact number of players registered in our teams and the subsidy received from your local association. You will know the amount a few weeks after the beginning of the season  . The entire fee will be due a few days after you’ve been told the amount. All teams will wear the Suroît uniforms for the 2009-2010 season.
